You know, I didn’t think they’d do it. Personally, I never took the news that they were making a Grumpy Cat movie seriously when the story originally came out. It’s just too ridiculous to believe. But now the first trailer has dropped and, well, it’s a real thing guys.

Usually, it works the other way round. Quotes from movies worm their way into the general subconscious of the population and we pepper our social media sites with image macros from iconic scenes. I think this is the first time that an internet meme has gotten a movie deal. Which makes me wonder, what’s next? Are we going to see a feature-length film on the misadventures of Bad Luck Brian? Will Much Movie, Many Doge, Wow be gracing our cinemas next summer? I shudder to think.

But if the floodgates have been opened, if we are going to be seeing a meme movie invasion, what memes do you think will make a good film, and why?

Let’s be honest, we’re all eagerly awaiting the Good Guy Greg movie played by Seth Rogen and directed by James Franco.

    Alliteration much?

And bad idea, on so many levels, the people who “get it” will probably hate it if the trailer for Grumpy is anything to go on and the people who might enjoy it will miss most, if not all, of the references.

I think memes can be worked into regular movies and series as a nod to the Internet community but having an entire movie/series based on a meme seems a bit of a stretch to me

We’ve been waiting for the right time to tell him about the experiments.
