Starving for new movies? Well the box office is about to get a little bit busy ahead of the US summer season. With Jurassic World looking set to devour audiences within a few weeks, studios decided that it’d be safer to open up before that flick came stomping in.

Which is how the box office debuted not one, not two but three big-name flicks on the weekend. Leading the pack was Melissa McCarthy’s Spy, which has the distinction of being not sh** according to Kervyn.

Spy took in $30 million according to estimates, going head to head with Insidious Chapter 3, which closed at third place behind San Andreas, taking in $23 million. That’s a big drop-off from the previous Insidious flick, which drew in over $40 million back in September of 2013.

Meanwhile, TV show Entourage finally hit the big screen, landing in fourth with just over $10 million in ticket sales. That’s a weak debut, with the film being shown at over 3000 screens across the states. Poor word of mouth and critic reviews aren’t doing it any favours either, so don’t expect to see Entourage last long. Here’s how everyone else did:

  • Spy – $30 Million
  • San Andreas – $26.4 Million
  • Insidious Chapter 3 – $23 Million
  • Entourage – $10.4 Million
  • Mad Max: Fury Road – $7.9 Million
  • Pitch Perfect 2 – $7.7 Million
  • Tomorrowland – $7 Million
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron – $6.2 Million
  • Aloha – $3.3 Million
  • Poltergeist – $2.8 Million

Top ten departures this week include Far From The Maddening Crowd and Hot Pursuit. The maddening romantic flick took in a quick $20 million, while the Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vegara action comedy slowed down to a pitiful worldwide take of just over $34 million.
