Don’t you guys just hate it when trailers to big upcoming movies don’t give away the entire movie? I mean, if I pay for click on a trailer with my hard earned dollars mouse-clicks, then I damn well expect to have all the major plot points laid out, all the main characters thoroughly introduced, and even a beat-by-beat rundown of the film’s major action scenes! I mean, that’s the least I could ask for, right?!
Luckily, the new Comic-Con trailer for Guy Ritchie’s The Man from UNCLE is here to meet my needs and totally give everything away over the course of it’s 5-minute long, admittedly really cool and very fun looking but totally revelatory running-time. So get ready to know everything about how Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer’s respective American and Russian spies team up and blow stuff up on the orders of Hugh Grant while Alicia Vikander slinks around everywhere.
Check it out below.
Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” centers on CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Cavill) and KGB agent Ilya Kuryakin (Hammer). Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.
The Man from UNCLE also stars Elizabeth Debicki and Jared Harris, and is scheduled for release on August 14, 2015.
