There's a man on a wire in this trailer for THE WALK

Believe it or not, but PE finally has an IMAX cinema. A proper, honest-to-your-deity venue for massive movies. And that’s something that I’m interested in, because I’ve never watched an IMAX movie.

And dammit, I want the IMAX experience. I want a screen so big that it looks like it belongs to a section of the Great Wall of China. I want sound so loud, that I’ll walk out with Tinitus once the movie is over. I want snacks and popcorn, ludicrously overpriced and unhealthy. Okay, maybe not that last bit, but you get where I’m going with this.

And I’m saving that IMAX cherry for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But right now, I’m proper tempted to see other movies in that format. Everest already looks like great fun. Now add The Walk to that list, which apparently isn’t a prequel to Walk Hard. Here’s the trailer, which pretty much gives the entire story away:

The Walk is the true story of a young dreamer, Philippe Petit, and a band of unlikely recruits who together achieve the impossible: an illegal wire walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. With little more than nerve and blind ambition, Petit and his ragtag crew overcome daunting physical obstacles, betrayals, countless close calls and overwhelming odds to beat the system and execute their mad plan.

The Walk stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Charlotte Le Bon, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale, Ben Schwartz, Clément Sibony and César Domboy. There’s some interesting angles at play in the trailer above, but this is starting to sound like the kind of movie where the audio design is going to play a massive part in the flick. Robert Zemeckis directs.
