Seth Rogen: He’s that funny dude with the odd laugh, right? That’s pretty much the Rogen that audiences know, but beyond being almost murdered by Jonah Hill during the apocalypse, he’s an actor with a hand in various other projects.
After Neighbors (Or Bad Neighbors as it was called here) managed to rake in over $268 million worldwide last year, a sequel for that film was quickly greenlit. And according to Rogen when he spoke to Collider, progress on that film is coming along nicely as he deals with an out of control sorority, as are several other projects that he happens to be busy with:
Neighbors 2 is going great! Right now we’re calling it Sorority Rising until the studio tells us not to. I think that’s a good … whatever you call the thing that goes after the colon. And that’s what it’s about.
Console Wars is a different project for Rogen, one that focuses on the war between Nintendo and Sega for dominance of the home console boom that defined the late 1980s and 1990s and happens to be based on the Blake Harris book. And as Rogen said, it’s all about telling a great story:
Console Wars is going well. We’re finishing the documentary element of it and we’re waiting until that’s done to see what our next play is exactly, because that’s kind of telling us what the story may or may not be.
Finally, Rogen got to talk about AMC’s upcoming Preacher TV series, a new comic book show that stars former small-town reverend Jesse Custer as he embarks across the US of A in a literal search for God:
It’s been amazing, honestly. AMC’s been very open and not restrictive of the things we wanted to do, and we pushed it pretty hard as we generally do. There’s definitely been some conversations here and there, but ultimately they’ve let us do exactly what we wanted, which has been incredible.
Literally you can’t say the F word, but other than that, we’ve pretty much been given complete free range
AMC is still pulling massive ratings with their other comic book property, The Walking Dead. Here’s hoping that lightning strikes twice with Preacher.
