Fox have released two trailers for the upcoming show Lucifer as part of a Halloween promotion. The show is based on the popular Vertigo Comics and will feature actor Tom Ellis as the title character.

If you are unfamiliar with the story here is a brief premise:

The series will focus on Lucifer, “who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the beauty of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

As with any production based on a comic book there is a lot of skepticism around how true to the original story the project will be and Lucifer certainly has its fair share of doubters. Based on the trailers the show looks like lots of fun and I think it’s set to be highly entertaining. Check out these promo trailers and share your thoughts on the show in the comment section below.

Joining Ellis on Lucifer is Lesley-Ann Brandt as Maze, Lauren German as Chloe Dancer, Kevin Alejandro as Dan, Rachael Harris as Linda Martin, D. B. Woodside as Amenadiel and Scarlett Estevez as Trixie.

The show is scheduled for release in 2016.

Well the trailer looks like fun. Never thought I would say that about a character who embodies pure evil in one of the oldest fairy tales.

The actor is playing this version of Lucy very well indeed! A good blend of playfulness, menace and “whatevs”!
