storks-2016-poster

2016 has been a great year for animated movies so far, with great movies from the big studios Of Disney, Pixar and DreamWorks in the form of Zootopia, Finding Dory (which opens today!) and King Fu Panda 3. We’ve also got a lot of upcoming releases to look forward to, like Moana, The Secret Life of Pets and now Storks, the latest animated offering from Warner Bros.

While Storks might not be as high profile as the rest of those, it still looks damn funny, and has an excellent cast as well. The screenplay comes from Nick Stoller, who previously co-write The Muppets and Muppets Most Wanted, as well brought us Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, Bad Neighbors, and Bad Neighbors 2. So you know the comedy is going to be on point with this one.

Storks deliver babies… or at least they used to. Now they deliver packages for global internet giant Cornerstore.com. Junior, the company’s top delivery stork, is about to be promoted when he accidentally activates the Baby Making Machine, producing an adorable and wholly unauthorized baby girl. Desperate to deliver this bundle of trouble before the boss gets wise, Junior and his friend Tulip, the only human on Stork Mountain, race to make their first-ever baby drop – in a wild and revealing journey that could make more than one family whole and restore the storks’ true mission in the world.

Oh man, those wolves! I’m in love. I really hope this movie is as funny (and adorable) as the trailer makes it out to be. The amazingly talented cast includes Andy Samberg as Junior, alongside Kelsey Grammer, Jennifer Aniston, Ty Burrell, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, and Katie Crown. Storks is scheduled for delivery on September 23rd, 2016.
