Oh man, I’ve recently been getting my science fiction on more than Trevor puts make up on! And one of my favourite recent shows was The Expanse, which ended on such a high note that I was sad I had to wait ages for it to come back. Well it’s been ages and I’ve luckily managed to distract myself with shows like Dark Matter and Killjoys.

But SyFy (still a really stupid name) have made the recent announcement that Netflix has now picked up the show’s non-US distribution and I am so happy! That means more people can watch the first season before the upcoming second season drops. And to get you even more excited, a new trailer for The Expanse‘s second season has now been released!

Season one had a slow start, building up enough friction between those on Earth, Mars and in the Belts for inevitable war. Well from the look of that trailer they are getting what they asked for!

Developed by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby from James S.A. Corey’s award-winning book Leviathan Wakes (the first in an ongoing series), the show boasted some serious effects. It was like Game of Thrones in space! What’s not to love? It has a badass detective (Thomas Jane) and accidental rogue captain (Steven Strait), and enough political family nonsense to keep everyone on their toes.

We’ll have to wait till 8 February next year to see this new season though. Still, right now you can go back through The Expanse season one on Netflix to remind yourself what happened! I know I will!

  1. Loved the show as well and can’t wait for season 2. Also a huge fan of Dark Matter. Never quite got into Killjoys though for some reason. How does that develop?

Focuses a lot on it’s over-arching story for most of season two.

I love Killjoys. The characters are all mental.
