Well, have you ever heard of a post-launch delay? You will have now, as the disaster watch around the horrible port of Arkham Knight on PC continues. Yesterday Warner Bros. did the only thing they could – pulled the game from digital distributor Steam and clamped down on retailers to stop the sale of physical copies. Even local retailers have begun taking it off shelves, and it’s going to be a while until they back on there. .
The Steam Store page for Arkham Knight was updated overnight, now reading that the Caped Crusaders penultimate title will only re-launch on most PC platforms later this year. A vague window of “Fall 2015” now accompanies the page online, which means the game won’t be fixed for a good few months. The Windows version of the games is suspiciously omitted from the listing, however – although it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume it will join the rest.
Coming to SteamOS, Linux & Mac Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on SteamOS, Linux and Mac in Fall 2015. ABOUT THIS GAME: Batman™: Arkham Knight brings the award-winning Arkham trilogy from Rocksteady Studios to its epic conclusion.
That’s not at all surprising, given the sheer amount of work Rocksteady is going to need to put in to fix this outsourced mess of a port. If you aren’t keeping score, Arkham Knight launched on PC with a ridiculous 30 FPS cap – with top of the line GPUs from both AMD and Nvidia not even able to sustain it. On top of that, some key visual features were absent from the port – such as rain and depth of field effects – despite being present on the rock solid PS4 version.
It’s clear that this isn’t a simple, week-long patch job, and all we can do is hope that the extra time (that was most certainly needed from the start) will produce a port worthy of the monstrous rigs people have built specifically for this game. It just really stings if you took the plunge early and now have to wait even longer for a fully functioning game.
Don’t pre-order games, folks – though Steam’s refunds make doing that just a little bit easier.

The perk about that is that you get used to waiting. 😉 Rockstar tried to fool people with the Steam sale by putting a discount on an inflated item, but most didn’t fall for it. So we’re all happy to wait a year more for a decent price on an old game. 😀

They will fail… Oh god will they fail… Fallout will release on time with the game running just fine… Bethesda uses a tried and tested in house created engine they know by heart (although NOTHING is wrong with Unreal Engine I love it since I work in it…). But the way developers port games is just appalling…
I bet my left testicle that Fallout wont have any problems on any platform… It’s reveal was a Win, it’s Fallout Shelter “delay” tactic was a super Win and the release will be a legendary WIN.

So interestingly, Ive been playing on PC with absolutely no problems… Everything on high, with gameworks off and so far no issues. Running 780Ti with 570 for PhysX. Roughly 40% through the game and no FPS drops, enjoying 60 FPS

This is the zenith of the gaming industry today. a betatesting DONE THE WAY IT SHOULD has become more and more rare, and this brought us here. A product sold as AAA that have more problems than an Indie game in alpha stage. This “ok we’ll release it now and fix later” thing is gone too far. Hope that all those DAC (day one customers) will learn. They have preordered a broken game.
