In what’s going to be devastating news to fans and WONDERFUL for game journos dreading November, Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed again. Again. Again. The new date for Cyberpunk 2077 will be December 10, because nothing says Christmas better than a video game that allows you to augment your wang.
“Since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works well and every version runs smoothly,” CD Projekt Red said in a statement.
We’re aware it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 days can make any difference in such a massive and complex game, but they really do.
The delay is a curious one, what with CD Projekt Red announcing not too long ago that Cyberpunk 2077 had gone gold.
This isn’t the first or even the second delay for the ambitious sandbox that The Witcher has been developing over the course of several years, but it might be the final one as development continues for the next three weeks.
As for the December competition? Cyberpunk 2077 is going head to head with Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 and I don’t fancy its chances in this fight.

There was a time I did this. I remember Rome Total War, WoW expansions and one or two others. Starcraft 2 was a dud due to a massive update, and we even stood in a queue to get the disks! Could only play the next evening! Never again. Oooh, XCom 3? Buy lol

I did this. All of my trips were cancelled because of Covid. So I have a large leave balance I was going to use for the new wow expansion which was delayed so I shifted them to cyberpunk which has now been delayed.

Some companies require you to make leave arrangements up to a month prior to date, so when they promise and tell you that there will be no more delays, this is the last one, we’ll see you November 19 and you trust and believe this is it and then they do this…
Those people are hyped for the game. They could live a busy life and perhaps to enjoy the game to it’s fullest need some time off to enjoy it in a long session rather than the scares 1 hour of gaming they usually have. We do not know people’s situations and living lifestyles.

Actually happy about this, November is gonna be to busy for me so i’m stoked, releases “hopefully” when my annual leave starts, but i get it, testing 9 versions is no easy task with current work from home conditions.

I for one is happy about this for two reasons:
A) Way to many great games on release for my shiny new PS5 in November, gives me some breathing space between games
B) Originally CD project red only focused on the older gen for Cyberpunk, but 4K60FPS seems to be the minimum requirement for games going forward, so take the time and give us a next gen game

I’m super bummed-out about the delay. Upgraded my pc and was in conversation about arranging leave. Guess i’ll check out Valhalla or just replay Witcher 3 again. I’m super sad 🙁

What hits the hardest, and I’m sure that’s what pisses off most people, CDPR told a guy not even less than a day of this announcement that it is 100% confirmed the game will release on November 19.
