Judging by the amount of Killzone: Shadow Fall games sitting on game shelves in the pre-played section, quite a few of you picked that title up for your PS4 last year. When it comes to launch titles, Guerrilla Games hit the new-gen with something solid. But their next big game could be even bigger in scope.
According to industry deepthroat Shinobi602 (Who has a great track record with rumours so far), Guerrilla Games has a new PlayStation 4 IP in the works that blends open worlds and RPG mechanics into something that is…unique.
I can’t wait to see Guerrilla’s RPG.

@Com_Raven Definitely going to be unique…

I’d put easy money on this RPG not being set in the usual swords and sorcery category, but perhaps in a more modern era. Proof? Well let’s not forget that Guerrilla Games recently hired Fallout: New Vegas lead writer John Gonzalez, whose LinkedIn Page describes him as having a story-telling focus for “open-world role-playing games. Because they are awesome.”
This genre will be a first for Guerrilla Games. They’ve stuck to first-person shooters since they were first formed, debuting with Shellshock: Nam ‘67 and then focusing solely on creating Killzone games for Sony, a period that has lasted from 2004 until 2013.
That’s six games set in a universe of Hellghast homicides. This will most likely be another of the big games that Sony will reveal at E3, as Shinobi602 remarked that with the drive to show off consoles now over, this year would be entirely game-centric:
Some are concerned but I’d be genuinely excited for E3. I know its vague but MS & Sony are going to have strong pressers. Just 11 days to go

Unique. I wonder if it’s going to be innovative too, possibly even dynamic, with maybe a bit of revolutionary thrown in.

What id like is a either a focused single player dynamic RPG that lets you play in a living world, but still on a single player type status or a co-op styled rpg with 2 or 4 players in a dynamic world also where the game automatically updates as you play so its always different or they can create an RPG game where you can play with your friends over LAN up to 10 players venturing the full story etc etc. Would be quite cool instead of an MMORPG.

Skyrim with friends, that’s what I want

Something like Skyrim, but on a smaller scale. Like Viking Of Science mentioned Borderlands. Similar to that, but in 3rd person or you could possibly change view to isometric Dungeon siege 3 style view.

So basically, Borderlands with less guns and more story….
CypherGate
May 29, 2014 at 14:08
Yup something like Borderlands, but not FPS though. 3rd person would be great. Another cool thing would be to add really great puzzles, riddles etc etc in between the story to progress, but obviously cant be short on action lol Can call it Massive Local Multiplayer. Ok 10 people isnt massive, but you get the idea.
