It’s not just Edgar Wright that Marvel has lost over the weekend. While it may be a smaller medium, it’s still a departure that will be felt, as Drew “Cabin In The Woods” Goddard will no longer be directly involved in any episodes of the upcoming Netflix series Daredevil.
According to the Latino Review, Goddard has dropped out of his writing, producing and showrunner duties. Unlike the controversy over Ant-Man however, the reason why Goddard has left is rather clear: He has his hands full with six other villains right now on another comic book movie. Or to be precise, the Sinister Six spin-off that Sony is building up.
But fret not, because a replacement without fear has already been drafted. Steven “Spartacus” DeKnight will handle the Daredevil show and its various duties, with Goddard instead being offered a consultancy position. DeKnight was also one of the key writers on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, so at least this hiring has a Joss Whedon connection.

Hi Darryn, it’s Sony (not Fox) that’s doing Sinister Six.
