It honestly doesn’t feel that long ago that word hit us of a new Batman series on the way. Only this time, it’d be taking a look at the future commish himself and Bat-ally, James Gordon. Since then, the show seems to have been rushed in production, scoring plenty of actors and crew along the way. And that can’t be a good sign, can it? Can it?
GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told.
Actually, that was a hell of a trailer. There’s been a lot said lately about DC properties being a tad too grim and gritty, but you can’t imagine Batman being anything but that. On a production level, the show looks absolutely superb in scope and design. What remains to be seen, is if these elements can co-exist with a solid story that charts the rise of Ben McKenzie’s James Gordon. We’ve always thought that the early 2000s comic book series GCPD would be perfect for a big screen adaptation that followed the thin blue line of Gotham as they dealt with super-crime.
This might just be the next best thing instead. Gotham arrives in the US fall season, with a full series that FOX has greenlit.
