The BAFTAs. Otherwise known, as the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, had their award ceremony last night. A classy affair that helps build up the hype on the road to Wrestlemania The Oscars, as well as the final stop before the big Hollywood event. Co-sponsored by bad weather, the London event took place last night, and produced the expected winners. Results after the jump.

Les Miserables was the biggest winner of the night when it came to pure numbers, scooping four awards in total. But those awards were of the less critical side, as the film won achievements in best supporting actress, production design, sound and make-up & hair.

The real big winner was Ben Affleck though, as he scooped top honours for Argo, netting the award for best director, while the rest of them team on that movie were awarded with best picture and best editing. I’m wondering if at this point the folks over at the Academy are going “Er…. guys. About that Ben Affleck thing…. I think we done messed up!”

I can just see it now: Bill Duke reprising his detective role from Menace II Society, sitting across from a very nervous group of Oscars judges.

“You know you done fucked up, don’t you?”
