Special effects teams are the unsung heroes of big budget movies these days. These are the guys who have to spend a ridiculous amount of hours every day working on normal thumbs for Megan Fox or vast technicolour explosions for summer blockbusters. Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes is no exception, with the special effects work having undergone a “quantum leap” according to the crew behind that upcoming movie.
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is out on July 11. The film stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Toby Kebbel, Kirk Acevedo, Enrique Murciano, and Judy Greer. Matt Reeves directs.
