When news first broke that a Jumanji remake was in the works my initial reaction was that of immediate skepticism. This movie should be left as is and the genius of Robin Williams is good enough to keep this classic good enough for generations to enjoy. Now there’s news that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart have their sights set on the project and you know what? I like it.
Call me crazy but I think this could be just what the movie needed to give it a fresh, new take and will allow the movie to stand apart from its predecessor. Kevin Hart’s star is rapidly rising and it seems that everything he gets involved with is met with success. Then there is Johnson, and the same could be said for him, with an ongoing list of hits under his belt and millions of adoring fans around the world. Pairing these two mega stars for the project will definitely bring in huge numbers and a very wide reach with audiences.
Now talks are still in its early stages as both guys have very busy schedules, but I have no doubt a deal will be done soon, so keep an eye out for that announcement. Until then, let us know what you think of this news? Is this is a good thing for the new Jumanji or are these guys the wrong choice for the project?

But Jumanji already had a remake. It was called Zathura and it bombed.
