Do you consider Child of Eden to be a casual, or hardcore game?

I don’t consider them different. It’s for anybody.

Do you feel that Kinect functionality will allow more gamers to “get” the game now?

I think Rez is Rez…and Child of Eden will bring in new people who have no personal experience with Rez who will touch this game. When I first started using this Kinect technology, it was like being a conductor, conducting music and sounds – a totally new experience. Like Mickey Mouse in Fantasia. Some people who love Rez will feel something, some connection. I don’t want to say too much, but I hope they feel something. Everyone can feel something.

Your games seem to be a perfect fit for 3D. Any plans for any 3D games?

Yeah…definitely yes. All the time we imagine a 3D experience, wearing 3D glasses and the kind of feeling of touching something. We have decided yet…well we haven’t announced it yet. We are making a PS3 version and we’re thinking about the move controller and maybe 3D. Maybe! So this is one of the futures of games.

Your last traditional game was Ninety Nine Nights. Do you have any inclination to do another traditional game?

I don’t know. I don’t know yet.

So no Sega Rally, then?

(laughs) I don’t know yet. I can’t deny any possibilities for the future. I’m always thinking about the future.

What other projects are you involved in right now?

Well, there’s Genki Rockets which I spoke of earlier. We have many other plans now…but I can’t talk of them. I’m thinking about the future. It’s a very exciting and aggressive moment in my life. Please forgive me…but I can’t talk about that now.
