Filming has begun on the Hellraiser documentary LEVIATHAN

One horror film franchise that has always interested me, has been the Hellraiser series. The tale of pinhead and friends, coming to our world from a hell that we could not imagine, has always made for a different kind of horror. Clive Barker created something magically terrifying with that concept, but it’s never been fully explored behind the scenes.

One group of fans however, wants to unlock that puzzle box and shed more light on the Cenobites and their films.    

A documentary from John McDonagh is on the way, that goes by the name of  Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser & Hellbound: Hellraiser II. The documentary has interviews with key cast and crew from the film, including  Simon Bamford, Barbie Wilde, Nicholas Vince, Oliver Parker, Christopher Figg, Geoff Portass, Roy Pudefoot, Cliff Wallace, Mark Coulier and John Midgley

‘Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II’ is a feature length documentary uncovering the history, making of and unknown details of the making of Clive Barker’s ‘Hellraiser’ and ‘Hellbound: Hellraiser II’ films.

The documentary will take a look back at how those first two films were conceived and produced, while also focusing on the technical side of the movies, as well as the impact it left on pop culture. This kind of documentary has my attention, and I’d dig to explore the manner in which the first two, and best, films in the series were made. Could be one to keep an eye out on.
