Goodbye Core 360, hello…Xbox Arcade?

46 second read

We have all heard the previous rumours about the Core model being dropped and it may been half right.

The Core model is (rumoured) being replaced by the Arcade model which comes with a memory card and 5 free games.  For some reason telling someone to buy the Arcade option seems like a better idea than the Core option.

It is obviously being aimed at offline gamers and since it no longer looks like the pro’s poorer cousin it may actually sell.

It also comes with a wireless controller which is a very good idea…

These are all rumours and you can see that the image has been badly edited so it could all be a lie. A very good idea though none the less.

Something that is a bit fishy is that it says you only get a Silver Live account with the Arcade console. Why???? a 30 day trial Gold membership is free, why won’t you be able to have that with the Arcade console?

The Core model has always come with a silver membership.

They seem to be aiming at people who don’t want to play online with it…

Anyway to add some more validity to this rumour Joystiq is also reporting on it now, better late than never 😉

“The core model has always come with a silver membership”
I don’t understand how that works since you register your gamer tag on Xbox Live and receive a free 30-day trail gold membership. How can a console come with a silver membership since no gamertags are pre-loaded on the console?

I was under the impression that the free Gold came from the box and not the gamertag.

I could be wrong though it has happened before 🙂

Anytime is a good time to buy a Xbox 360 🙂

Where do you see the limited edition box for R3699 (I can’t find it on the site)…

Rumours are that the price may be dropped on Friday but so far Microsoft SA are denying it. So if I was you I would at least wait until the weekend, if nothing happens then pick one up on the weekend or at rAge this year..

There will be good deals when Halo 3 gets launched.
