Is Vin Diesel on his way to the Marvel Movie Universe?

Vin Diesel Marvel (3)

By now, it’s clear that the summer blockbuster movie money is all in the superhero genre. Man of Steel, Dark Knight Rises, Avengers and Iron Man have proven that they have what it takes to strip wallets of cash. And that’s a fact that will draw in high-price actors. After all, big name plus a big project equals all the money.

One big name that has been absent from the recent slate of Marvel films though? Vin “sorta fast and furious” Diesel. The Marlboro voiced actor has been living it up in his own franchise for a couple of years now. And now, it looks like he might finally be phasing into a whole new one.

“Marvel has requested a meeting,” Diesel wrote on his Facebook page. “No idea what for… haha, you probably know better than me…”

Could Vin Diesel be the next Ant-Man? Dr Strange? Ghost Rider? Squirrel Girl? I kinda doubt it. But what I do reckon, is that Marvel wants to approach him for a certain role that has yet to be filled for their upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film. A more diminuitive role, that won’t require him to be hitting the gym and training exercises. I rate that Diesel would be perfect as…Rocket Raccoon.

It makes sense, trust me! If there’s one thing that Diesel has, it’s a set of pipes that would work perfectly for the badass character, an anthropomorphic space raccoon that kicks all kinds of ass with the best weaponry possible. C’mon just imagine this guy:

…voiced by Diesel, and tell me that it’s not a good idea. Even though I was hoping that Adam Sandler got the part, this makes more sense. After all, Diesel has enough voice acting experience to pull this off, and it’d be the biggest surprise of the film to see this character sounding manlier than a Chuck Norris convention. What do you think? Yay or nay on this rumour?

I’d rather have Jason Statham in all his gravelly-voiced goodness, but Diesel would be an excellent choice as well!
