It’s just over a month away until a sticky-fingered man in pyjamas with an arachnid fetish is once again swinging into our cinemas. We’ve been shown quite a bit of The Amazing Spider-Man – director Marc Webb’s Spider-man reboot – through pictures and trailers, and I’ve personally liked what I’ve seen so far. The new cast seems to a great fit, and the film seems to a better translation from page to screen of Spidey’s personality than the Sam Raimi trilogy.
But if you’ve been using your spider-sense to avoid all the film’s marketing, or maybe you just need a bit more convincing, then here’s a new trailer courtesy of our favourite penal colony. It’s mostly footage we’ve seen already in other trailers/clips, but there are a couple of new scenes spliced in that show a bit more of the antics between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.
Teenage social outcast Peter Parker spends his days trying to unravel the mystery of his own past and winning the heart of his high school crush, Gwen Stacy. Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase belonging to his father, who abandoned him when he was a child, which leads him to his dad’s former partner, Dr. Curtis Connors. The discovery of his father’s secret will ultimately shape his destiny of becoming “Spider-Man” and brings him face to face with Connors’ villainous alter ego, the Lizard.
