It wouldn’t be a proper year for films if there wasn’t a new CGI picture in the works, and it looks like Dreamworks will once again be joining the release schedule next year for such projects, as new details on their upcoming family film, Turbo, have finally been revealed.
Turbo follows the dreams of a regular garden snail, voiced by Ryan Reynolds, who desires to burn snail slime as a racer, putting him at slow odds with the rest of his community.
Shunning, name-calling and mockery follows of course, until the ambitious snail somehow finds himself gifted with the power of actual speed, making him set his sites on competing in the Indianapolis 500 race.
That’s all the info that Dreamworks had for us a year ago, but now they’ve opened the floodgates to let potential viewers know which voices will feature in their film.
Big breath now, as Turbo will star Paul Giamatti, Samuel L Jackson, Michael Pena, Luis Guzman, Bill Hader, Ken Jeong, Michelle Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, Ben Schwartz, Kurtwood Smith and Snoop Dogg, all alongside Ryan Reynolds.
Turbo releases next year in June, alongside several tanks of sharks that can be jumped over.
