Stranger Things season 2 Superbowl teaser reveals release date

There’s very little doubt as to what was the breakout TV show of 2016. Netflix’s Stranger Things was the absolute perfect blend of thrills, laughs and retro nostalgic goodness, and has catapulted its young stars into Hollywood limelight. The show’s upcoming second season is as about as, if not more hotly anticipated as any of the major Hollywood blockbusters set to drop this year, so it only seems fitting that the first look at Stranger Things season two debuted on the same platform given to the movies: Superbowl!

The first teaser trailer released last night giving us our first, very creepy,  new look at the crew of Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and the returned Will (Noah Schnapp) in 1984 (of course they’re Ghostbusters fans!). Besides for the return of Will’s mom (Winona Ryder), her new boyfriend (Sean Astin) and Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour).

Oh and eggos. There are definitely eggos. Check out the trailer below.

Producer Shawn Levy also spoke to EW over the weekend, teasing what’s to come in season two:

“The Demogorgon was destroyed but evil wasn’t.”

And that evil will be coming for the crew on none other than Halloween, as it was revealed that Stranger Things season two will hit Netflix on 31 October.
