The concept art for EDGE OF TOMORROW is wheelie good!

Edge of Tomorrow (14)

Edge of Tomorrow may have divided some opinions on this site (Here and here for superfluous hyperlinking) but hot damn does it look like the engine was revving at maximum when it came down to the visuals of the movie. You can thank the concept artists for that, as you’ll see below.

Concept artist Kevin Jenkins dropped a ton of art from his time spent on Edge of Tomorrow, showing off pre visualisation designs for the Mimics and human soldiers. Here’s what Jenkins had to say about the work he did, from his website and io9:

I was brought on by Warners Bros at the very early stages of the production. Initially working with Doug and then Oliver when he joined. I led the team that helped concept develop the exosuit which took about six months of work, some of the images had all of the team participating under me due to time constraints . Special mention to Chris and Sam who collaborated on some of the models.

As the suit went into production I then worked with Nick Davis and the VFX crews for nearly a year to work on all things Mimics. Thanks to Ivan who developed some incredible clay sculpts.

If Edge of Tomorrow had had transforming soldiers, it should have won all the Oscars. Ever.

I’ve been putting off watching this, because I didn’t know how I felt about Tom Cruise in yet another one of these roles.

I loved the movie. A great deal of fun, I didn’t want to murder Tom Cruise, but as @disqus_DoEH3TsffU:disqus the ending could have been less Merican.
