The greatest movie poster artist of all time finally gets a documentary

Take a look at the number of films out there, about great artists and anthropomorphic turtles. There are tons of them? But when it comes to combining art and movies, there happens to be no video whatsoever of the great Drew Struzan, a poster artist that we really, really dig.

A documentary about him has been in the works however, for two years now, and it’s finally finished, as this trailer for The Man Behind the Poster shows us, with an all-star cast of admirers for the iconic artist.

I’ve still got old VHS cassettes gathering dust in my cupboard, boxes which happen to be adorned with magnificent art. Heck, I’ve seen so many movies already, thanks to his magnificent art selling them to me.

It’s high time that we got a look at the man and his techniques, and I’ll be first in line to watch this documentary when it arrives later this year. Directed by Erik P. Sharkey, the film features interviews with George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Michael J. Fox, Guillermo Del Toro, Steven Spielberg, Thomas Jane and more, as they discuss how Struzan shaped their lives and careers.

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia's M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
