The first Percy Jackson film wasn’t that bad at all. Despite clearly coming from a sea of Harry Potter influenced clones, enough of the original source material surfaced just long enough to give the film some Grecian taste, as the young son of Poseiden embarked on a quest to uncover his godly heritage. And thunderbolts.
A sequel has been bubbling away since late 2011, when production began on it. Looks like it’s finally time to let the genie out of the bottle, as Jackson and pals are looking for a wooly bully coat.
Directed by thunder god Thor Freudenthal, Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters finds Percy on another epic quest, to find the legendary Golden Fleece. Alongside his Demigod pals, it’s up to Jackson (Logan Lerman) and co to help save the day, and more importantly, their training ground, Camp Half-Blood.
The sequel also stars Brandon T. Jackson, Alexandra Daddario, Douglas Smith, Mary Birdsong, Yvette Nicole Brown, Missi Pyle, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Head, Paloma Kwiatkowski, Leven Rambin, Stanley Tucci, Robert Maillet and Zoe Aggeliki.
It’s out at the end of August.
