This trailer for AIRPLANE VS VOLCANO is dead in the air!

1 min read

When you’re in a plane, trapped in a circle of death created by some angry, belching volcanoes, you know who you want to have next to you? Superman. Hopefully, it’s not a has-been Superman most famous for introducing the world to a desperate housewife. Unfortunately if you’re in Airplane vs Volcano, the latest from shlockbuster studio Asylum, that’s all you’re going to get.

When a commercial airliner is trapped within a ring of erupting volcanoes, the passengers and crew must find a way to survive – without landing.

Firstly, yes that poster does indeed say “Based on a true story”, and I simply don’t know how to respond to that.

Secondly, Asylum have apparently run out of animal-portmanteaus to throw at each other, so we’re now versus-ing (totally a real word) natural disasters and aerial vehicles. Not sure if this a good approach though, as their previous films were so ridiculous that there was a lot of fun to be had with them. This almost feels like it’s trying to ground itself in reality (-ish) and be all serious about it, which could just strip out all the guilty pleasure joy.

Also, special mention has to be made of the early contender for Best Delivery of a Line of Dialogue in 2014 for “Can… You… Fly… This… Plane?”

Airplane VS Volcano will be released in theatres – no, really, it’s getting a theatrical release – on March 28, 2014.

  1. Heh, I remember that Superman show. His 80’s aerobics style suit.
