Oh Vin Diesel. I know far too many ladies would would happily throw their own husbands into an oven just for the chance of a glance from you, and for that, my life is a little sadder. On a happier note Vin Diesel does Vin Diesel better than anyone else. Because let’s face it. He is a typecast of himself, and that is a GOOD thing. An now he’s coming at you in The Last Witch Hunter.
After launching from tower to tower in his last outing in Fast and the Furious 7, he’s replaced his car keys for a big ass sword because that’s what every immortal needs. Here’s the premise:
The modern world holds many secrets, the most astounding being that witches still live among us. Centuries ago, Kaulder (Vin Diesel) managed to slay the all-powerful Queen Witch, decimating her followers in the process. Before her death, she cursed the valiant warrior with her own immortality, separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Her resurrection now threatens the survival of the human race as Kaulder, the only one of his kind remaining, faces her vengeful wrath
Of course in a movie like this you are going to need a companion, one who has seen his fair share of magic and who knows about demons. Step in Frodo, I mean, Elijah Woods. He plays a priest who has read a lot about evil but probably didn’t expect to actually have to fight it literally. We also have Michael Cain and the lovely “You know nothing John Snow” Rose Leslie in so the cast looks as solid as Vin’s massive beard. Well enough of my blathering, have a watch of the rather awesome trailer.
That looks AWESOME! I mean come one! Dream walker scenes, swords that have flames coming out of them! It’s everything Seventh Son (spits on floor) should have been!
The Last Witch Hunter will be kicking some ass and taking names 20 October 2015.
