As it turns out, Pennywise and Nick aren’t the only evil clowns in the business as this trailer for 31 – the latest low budget gore horror from metal-maestro Rob Zombie – will show you.

The official plot synopsis is as follows:

From the visionary mind of man who brought us House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects and Halloween comes the horrific story of five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large compound.

At the mercy of their captors, they are forced to play a twisted game or life or death called 31. For the next 12 hours they must fight for their lives against an endless parade of homicidal maniacs.

Which sounds a lot like going to a carnival, so perhaps justice is served?

While I’m definitely not a horror fan, as my well-worn blankie will attest, for some reason this movie intrigues me. Is it the fact that it doesn’t so much look like a jump-scare fest, but rather an all out explosion of blood, gore and the decidedly weird? Wait… is that weird? Who cares, I want to see it.

What do you think?

31 is due for release in the US on 21 October, although you may find it on select streaming services from 16 September. Written and directed by Rob Zombie, it stars Elizabeth Daily, Sheri Moon Zombie, Meg Foster, Malcolm McDowell, Richard Brake and Lew Temple.
