Annabelle 2 is on its way. The first teaser trailer for this new movie featuring the eponymous haunted doll – which appears to be a prequel to 2014’s Annabelle, which itself was a prequel to The Conjuring (please keep up) – just dropped, so I really don’t know if we’re going to host a screening for it, like we did for the first movie. I really, really hope we do though. And also especially that that guy is there again. Oh trust me, if you were at the Cape Town screening for Annabelle you know exactly which shrieking, screaming guy I’m talking about!

Personally, I didn’t think too much of Annabelle itself in terms of scariness and just all-round filmmaking (though my opinion clearly means nothing when the movie made $256 million), but having somebody in the audience so hilariously and vocally on-edge made for one hell of a fun experience. In fact, whomever you are, if you’re reading this right now, can you please go ahead and watch the first creepy announcement trailer for Annabelle 2 below. But make sure you have a camera setup to record your reaction! I need to be entertained!

Here’s the synopsis and trailer:

Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.

Annabelle 2 stars Miranda Otto and Stephanie Sigman, and was written by Annabelle scribe Gary Dauberman. Adam Sandberg, the man responsible for the damn scary short turned feature film Lights Out, is sitting in the director’s chair for this one, which does bode well. Annabelle 2 is scheduled for release on May 19, 2017.
