WWE Fastlane took place from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The final event before Wrestlemania, the night pretty much went down exactly as anyone expected it to. Here’s a recap of all the action, that didn’t see any significant changing of gold overall.
The New Day def. Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev
SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos def. The Miz and Shane McMahon; Shane attacked Miz after the match
SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka def. Mandy Rose
The Bar def. Kofi Kingston (2-on-1 Handicap Match)
Raw Tag Team Champions The Revival def. Aleister Black and Ricochet and Bobby Roode and Chad Gable (Triple Threat Match)
United States Champion Samoa Joe def. R-Truth, Rey Mysterio and Andrade (Fatal 4-Way Match)
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection def. Nia Jax & Tamina; Jax & Tamina brawled with Beth Phoenix & Natalya
WWE Champion Daniel Bryan def. Kevin Owens and Mustafa Ali (Triple Threat Match)
Becky Lynch def. Charlotte Flair via Disqualification
AJ Styles attacked Randy Orton after an Elias concert
The Shield def. Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin
Yup, pretty much just as I predicted! With Wrestlemania around the corner, there was no way in hell that you were going to see a major title shift before the showcase of the Immortals. Come April, expect feuds to be settled and the WWE landscape to be forever altered when the annual draft lottery kicks off and superstars are shifted between RAW and Smackdown. On the plus side, Asuka still retains and will likely go into Wrestlemania as Smackdown Women’s champion because she’s da best yo.
