WWE Smackdown LIVE took place from from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Here’s all the action that went down last night.
The New Day anointed a new honorary group member on “The Kevin Owens Show”
Kevin Owens. A ring decked out for a talk show. Flapjacks. With Big E out of commission thanks to injury, the Prizefighter’s jovial mood turned serious when he offered Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston a new idea: An alliance of sorts, with Owens revealing that perhaps he should become an honorary member of the New Day. One test of his dance moves later and with the approval of the WWE Universe, Kevin Owens joined the power of positivity.
Just in time for the main event, which would see the New Day face off against Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev later in the night.
Finn Bálor def. Ali
With that bit of business done, it was time for the Superstar Shake-up to continue and Smackdown LIVE revealed it’s first acquisition of the night: Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor! Taking to the ring to face off against Ali, the champ put his loss against Andrade from the night before in the rearview mirror, and put on an impressive performance in his debut match for the blue brand.

Paige revealed SmackDown LIVE’s newest tag team
After plenty of interruptions, Smackdown LIVE general manager finally revealed the latest tag team in the women’s division: Asuka and NXT’s Kairi Sane, who made a splash by joining Ember Moon and Bayley as they cleared the ring of Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville and the Iiconics. With that bit of housekeeping done, it was time to have a proper match between all the ladies!

Is Smackdown LIVE ready for…Elias? Amidst all the pomp and ceremony, Elias’ introduction to Smackdown LIVE felt very much like an episode of RAW, in that he wasn’t able to pluck a few strings of his guitar before he was interrupted. Interrupted…by none other than Roman Reigns, who arrived with Superman Punches for both Elias and Mr. McMahon.
