One thing the cinema scene has never suffered from is a lack of gore porn movies to titillate and scare last night’s meal out of you. Well I am afraid you’ll have to wait for the latest bit of celuloid laxative as Eli Roth’s Green Inferno has experience some behind the scenes marketing problems which has resulted in the movie’s cinematic release being indefinitely suspended, just one month before it was supposed to hit theatres.

According to Deadline, Open Road Films has pulled the release of the movie off their schedule because “financier Worldview Entertainment is baulking at ex-CEO Christopher Woodrow’s commitment to provide the P&A [i.e. prints and advertising]”. Claims that Worldview Entertainment just don’t have the cash (P&A a costly exercise) have also been circulating. Director Eli Roth (Hostel II) even took to twitter to try and reassure everyone stating that Green Inferno  was “off the menu for Sept”, but that “Everyone is working to solve this ASAP. Thank u for understanding!” Off the menu, what a kidder.

Quite frankly I’ve grown weary of the gore porn genre but I know that many people out there thoroughly enjoy watching other people dismembered in ever more creative ways. You can watch the trailer below because, well, you can’t watch the movie… Yet.

The story of a group of student activists who travel from New York City to the Amazon to save the rainforest. However, once they arrive in this vast green landscape, they soon discover that they are not alone and that no good deed goes unpunished.
