It’s nearly, nearly time for fans of one of the longest-running series in JRPG history to get excited. Yeah, Final Fantasy XIII-2 will soon be upon us. Stalwart fans who were jaded after XIII’s hours and hours of corridors should find solace in Final Fantasy once again – as it’ll be better this time around – or so Square Enix promises.

For those who don’t know, there’s a new time travel mechanic in the Historia Crux System, that’ll allow players to travel through “time-space locations,” from hundreds of years in the past to hundreds of years in the future – seeing the drastic changes their actions might bring. Sound familiar? Those in the know have compared it to a favourite JRPG of mine, Chrono Trigger – and that can’t be a bad thing. Here are some delicious screens to whet your appetite.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
