What definitely grates me is the fact that the larger media outlets just don’t need to play by the same rules as everyone else making our lives so much more difficult.
The latest example comes from Polygon where Brian Crecente posted the above video of his customised invite to a Skylanders event in New York City on the 23rd of April.
Whenever we get invited to events like this we have to sign a billion NDA documents and stick by embargoes else we get punished. So even if we know something early we also know that we are going to be scooped by one of the larger sites simply because they don’t play by the same rules.
But moving on, Skylanders definitely broke the mould when they released the initial game and while I wasn’t a huge fan of giants I think they took yet another leap forward with Swap Force and I’m excited to see what Toys for Bob have up their sleeves.
Activision has already revealed that Skylanders will be an annualised title for the foreseeable future but Activision also know they need to keep improving it else hard hit parents will simply not pick up the new version now matter how loud little Suzy screams.
We may or may not be at this very same event later this month but if we are then we will be sure to bring you all the news about the game and hopefully get some manscaping tips from Brian Crecente himself. Lord knows Darryn needs them.
I wonder if Spyro is returning?
