Batman Gets Interrogative in Arkham City

Rocksteady are, of course, making a few changes to the way the Caped Crusader played in their first Batman game. Everyone’s favourite cowled detective will be getting a few enhancements  – and one of those makes it seem like he’s been hanging out with Splinter Cell’s Sam Fisher.

Yup, Batman is going to be able to interrogate Gotham’s thugs for more information.

“As with nearly every area of the game we’re enhancing it. One example is the criminal database coupled with the new interrogation mechanic,” game director Sefton Hill told PSM3.

“The Riddler continues to taunt the Dark Knight with mind-bending puzzles and exploration challenges, but the location of his biggest secrets are known only to him and people he’s told. Rather than unlocking their locations using maps, Batman will be able to scan a gang of thugs to find a potential informant.”

Of course, it’d be difficult to question somebody who’s lights you’ve just exhausted, so you’ll have to be careful where you’re kicking and punching.

“This is the guy you need to question, but first you’ll have to take down all the other gang members while sparing the one you want. That can be tough when Batman’s in a seamless FreeFlow combo chain,” Hill explained.

My hopes for the sequel? a little more diversity in the endless thugs from the original, and an endboss who doesn’t act completely out of character, ruining the last moments of an otherwise incredible game.
