Battlefield Heroes Gameplay Footage – Free = Awesome

2 min read

Gametrailers has posted up some footage from the upcoming free online shooter, Battlefield: Heroes and I have to say that something free has never looked like this much fun.

Watch as the player runs around gunning down everything in his path using a machine gun and at some point a shotgun as well. The visuals really do look fantastic and the sound and visual effects look like they add a lot to the overall experience.

I really love that this game is being released for free, with some advertising as well as the options to buy extra outfits and so on. It means that the publishers are happy, and more importantly, the gamers are happy. Some MMORPG games have done similar things in the past, but if this takes off, we may see quite shift in online gaming and we may see a lot more free games coming our way in future, and that’s not a bad thing at all.

Even though Battlefield 1943 is coming to consoles, I have a feeling that this may pitch up at some point as well, although I have the sneaking suspicion that we are going to have to pay for it anyway.
