Bayonetta on PS3 was a failure for Platinum

Bayonetta was released last year to pretty solid reviews on Xbox 360 and PS3 but the user experience on the PS3 version was fundamentally flawed with the Xbox 360 version being a far superior experience. The titles developers agree and describe it as their biggest failure.

The reason the PS3 experience was so dreadful was quite simple because at the time the developers, Platinum, didn’t have any experience with PS3 development and decided that in the interests of PS3 gamers it would be more logical to outsource the PS3 coding to an inhouse Sega team.

Unfortunately the inhouse Sega team also didn’t appear to know how to utilise the PS3’s power and in the end a buggy laggy mess was released that Platinum now describe as their biggest failure.

But don’t worry, the same thing won’t happen again as Bayonetta 2 has been revealed to be a Nintendo Wii-U exclusive…that’s one way to avoid learning how to code on the PS3 I guess.
