Blizzard aren’t making Diablo for the console, maybe

But you said you loved me

According to the Diablo 3 game director, Jay Wilson, they haven’t even started experimenting on making a console port of Diablo 3 even though they advertised for someone to help with the conversion.

No they just stated that in the advert to entice quality employees but in reality it was a lie.

Sounds a bit far fetched? Well here are some direct quotes he made in an interview with Gamasutra recently.

We haven’t officially announced it, because we’re not ‘experimenting,

We tell people that basically we’re experimenting, because it helps us hire people. The better people we hire, the better chance we have to actually make it.

That’s why we haven’t kept it super secret, but we also haven’t confirmed it, because we’re not sure yet whether we think it will work, and whether we think we have the resources to do it.

I’m not entirely sure what to make of such statements, surely it’s illegal to falsely advertise like that?

But either way I’m not interested in a console version of Diablo 3, the control scheme won’t fit properly and therefore the game would have to be massively dumbed down to handle the controller.

Not to mention the fact that a large amount of consoles aren’t connected to the Internet which would make the always on portion a bit of a disaster.
