Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC arrives January 28

59 second read

Love it or hate it, but it’s hard to argue with the Call of Duty results every year. Hell, even when a game sells poorly compared to previous years, the final profits are still ludicrously high. Thank the digital option of adding more content to the game for that, something that the latest instalment will keep on doing when the Onslaught arrives this month.

Onslaught, the first of four DLC packs that includes Devastation, Invasion and Nemesis arrives later this month on the 28th thanks to habitual leaker Gamestop and a handy cellphone snap revealing a display for the DLC. Thanks NeoGAF.

Expect the usual trailer soon where devs tell you why this mode will rock your socks off. Personally, I’m hoping that they follow this announcement with a new series of replacer adverts that stars Peter Stormare and his icy cool voice.

According to the image, Onslaught will add the following new maps and guns to your copy of Ghosts, with the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the game getting a timed exclusive release:

Multiplayer Maps:

  • Fog
  • Ignition
  • Containment
  • Bayview

Bonus Weapon:

  • Maverick AR & Sniper Rifle

  • Episode 1: Nightfall

I’ve been playing Call of Duty: Ghosts lately (ON PEE ESS FAWR), and I’ve had some mixed feelings. I honestly just don’t care enough about the single-player campaign to actually even spend an evening to finish it, but the multiplayer is as solid as ever while the Extinction mode is ridiculously addictive.

Too damn addictive I say. Hell, it’s almost as bad as my Resogun addiction, and that’s something. Why, just last night I made it past Hive 8, and powered up until Hive 11 until one of those damn rhinos got me and dammit I’m drifting.

Let’s just say that Extinction has given the Treyarch COD games and their zombie mode a solid run for its money. The season pass will retail for $49.99, so if our dear president can keep his mouth shut, that shouldn’t be more than a few million Rands by the end of this week.
