Normally when a game project is canned, there’s a pretty good reason; the idea isn’t feasible, it’s not up to scratch, it’s in development hell, company’s gone bankrupt, etc.
None of those really apply to this, a futuristic 3rd person PS3-bound shooter to be set in London in the year 2032. After the jump you’ll find the target render – ie fake gameplay footage – used as a pitch by Akama Studio for Ubisoft Montpellier. The project failed to get the green light – but I can’t for the life of me fathom why.
Vergne Fanny, one of the 3D environment artists who worked on this video, released it along with a bunch of renders his personal blog. The post has since been removed – but it’s been preserved by the magic of Google cache.

It *was* working earlier, but it looks like the videos been pulled again. I’ll try look for it somewhere else – it was quite damned awesome.
