Capcom opens up a Resident Evil restaurant

I'm really looking forward to the next Resident Evil game, "Zombie kids from Fukushima".

What’s the best way to promote a game? Extensive marketing and viral campaign? Competitions? Bribery? Nope, apparently, if you’re Capcom, the future of game promotion is in restaurants! And for the upcoming Resident Evil 6, they’re planning on opening up another fine eating establishment.

Pass the leg of Larry would you?

Capcom is calling their latest eating hub the Biohazard Cafe & Grill S.T.A.R.S, and seeing as how you would have to be mental to eat in a place named after bio-terrorism, they’re going to be placing it in the heart of the Shibuya district, in Tokyo.

There’s no word yet on what delicacies are hidden within, but so far, the joint has advertised live dancing and swag for fans. Biohazard Cafe & Grill S.T.A.R.S will be open from July 13 for a year, and it better have some waiters dressed as the undead, or I’ll be really disappointed.

This isn’t the first time that Capcom has ever opened up a theme restaurant. Another one exists, that prepares meals based on their other franchises, such as Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney and Monster Hunter, and serves meals such as a Resident Evil brain cake. Yum.

Personally, I can’t wait for my bank loan to be approved, so that I can build my Arkham City themed restaurant. Patrons can expect fine meals, drinks and physical abuse from a gang of local escaped convicts that I hired to make the experience that much more authentic.

Or I could just buy some shares in Club Avastar.
