“What?” You scream, your voiced trembling with vitriol  “The game’s not even out yet, and they’ve announced DLC? Why the f*ck isn’t it on the disc?” That I can’t answer, but before you go on paying full price for incomplete games and that DLC ruining gaming, know that EA and Visceral haven’t announced a release date so it could still be in early development.

Besides, it sounds pretty cool; especially if you’ve played through the not-terrible-at-all rail-shooter Dead Space Extraction on the Wii or on the PS3 using Move.

In a story that runs parallel to the main game, Severed will have you playing as Extraction’s Gabe – a security guard on the Sprawl as he and Lexine try to escape an onslaught of flesh-hungry space-mutant Necromorphs. The DLC will add another two chapters to the survival horror that’s already shaping up to be one of this year’s most critically well received games.

There’s no word on pricing or release, but there is a bit of bad news for PC gamers. Severed will only be coming to PSN and XBL, leaving PC gamers out of the DLC loop. Again.
