Diablo 3: Not convinced

So since Nick decided to get married instead of reporting on the gaming news I have had to try and cover the Diablo 3 story myself.

You may have noticed a distinct lack of reporting on Diablo 3 so far, well you see the last iteration really didn’t really do it for me and I have been ignoring the reports on Diablo as I was worried it was just going to be more of the same again.

Well I finally broke down and watched the latest gameplay trailer and well… it’s just like the last one isn’t it? Honestly I am not impressed so far but if you were a huge Diablo 2 fan then this one is right up your alley.

why would you want to change Diablo? are you seriously telling me that you’re not impressed by this game. everything about it is impressive, Bigger bosses deeper tech tree’s more weapons, new characters more balanced system allowing all characters to be worthy opponents, as well as what looks to be co-op!

I got my fanboi hat on now and you’ve just stepped on my toes! this game is going to ROCK!

Exactly, just like GeOW2 will, in essance, be the same as GeOW1.

Blizzard is the only reason I still play games on a PC. Atm its WoW and later it will be SC2 followed by diablo.

These games alone is enough incentive for me to upgrade my PC, and if Diablo has LAN co-op like the previous ones then I would probably upgrade for Diablo alone 😀
(or atleast p2p online and no laggy international server)

My thoughts exactly! Chances are if they changed it, they would’ve stuffed it up. Diablo II was brilliant, and the fans want more of it, not something else.

I finished one, couldn’t be bothered with 2. Rumour has it that they’re considering a console version. I might take another look then, but frankly Fable 2 & Too Human look far more like my type of thing.

Lol, I’d like to know where you get your rumours from. Anyway, imo ofc, D3 will blow fable2 and too human out of the water. Didn’t a eurogamer employee preview too human and said it was the worst game he played in five years?

Like I said above, fan service. Send your grievances to epic. Last time I check, they’re developing is sequel which looks startlingly similar to the first one 🙄

Diablo isn’t about the graphics, don’t expect to be blown away by it. It’s about the gameplay, which is super cool!

I’ll be playing Diablo III for the story, unnerving atmosphere and fast paced action.

Titan Quest, with its gorgeous 3D graphics, intelligent skill tree system and other innovations, has already overhauled the Action-RPG genre. However, TQ was always more about the loot (and fun ragdoll physics) and less about the story, which was a bit vanilla and uninvolving.

That’s exactly where I’m expecting Diablo III to excel – otherwise I don’t think it will have anything new to add to its genre.
