DICE claims Call of Duty just treading water

The General Manager of DICE, the guys behind the upcoming Battlefield 3, Karl Magnus Troedsson has claimed that while their competitors are very very big they aren’t innovating anymore and are simply just treading water.

It’s a claim that will ring true with a lot of gamers out there, especially when it comes to Call of Duty: Black Ops.

An awesome title that is loved the world over but it’s not a hard stretch to say that it is simply Modern Warfare 2 with a different coat of paint and far less bugs. It’s not greatly innovative in anyway.

Apparently Battlefield 3 is going to be truly innovative when it gets released in Spring this year.

Though how it’s going to do that is up for discussion, adding in jets isn’t going to make it any more innovative compared to Battlefield 2 really and big console battles has already been done by Resistance and MAG.

I for one love shooters so I can’t wait, but is anyone else really excited about this game?
