Don’t trust this latest Loki collectable from Hot Toys

Loki (12)

Let’s be honest here. There are only a handful of superhero movies out there where the main villain didn’t steal the show. One such character that stole scenes and hearts? The Asgardian trickster god, Loki. Without Tom Hiddleston around, the two Thor movies and the Avengers film might have been very different flicks in the end. And ol’ Loki is back, albeit in a much smaller package.

Based off of his appearance in the latest Midgard-produced movie, Thor: The Dark World, Loki Odinson comes with all the tricks of the trade that you’d expect in a mischief deity. Extra hands, daggers, a devilish smirk, proper clothing and mystical handcuffs.

And knowing just how many fans Loki has, I’m expecting those handcuffs to be put to some sort of sordid use. This isn’t the first Loki figure from Hot Toys and Sideshow Collectibles, but it does feature a brand new head sculpt which hits all the uncanny valley points.

Loki measures in at around 30 of our metric centimetres and a half, for a sixth scale representation. The price? A “never trust a god of mischief around your other action figures” $239.99, or close to R2640, minus shipping.

Still worth it though, because then my Thor figure will never be lonely. And I can finally film my sitcom, Thor ‘n Loki, and create wacky adventures and you folks better knock before you enter my room and find me dressing them up and I totally wasn’t playing weird games with these guys.

  1. I was at the forbidden planet in london recently and they had really nice figurines and a few that was broken stock where you dont even notice the damage going for 110 pounds. They had some epic ones but they average 360 pounds 🙁

I drooled over that massive glass display case for way too long. So, so many cool figures. If only I had had the cash to afford that Iron Monger one. Or a brick to smash it out.

Same here I probably spend over 2 hours at the glass case. I loved the comic book and graphic novel floor I managed to pick up all 5 graphic novels of Preacher which I was looking for ages. It did cost me 100 pound though and some idiot on the plane squashed my carry on luggage so one of my cover pages got a bent 🙁

I swear if South Africa ever gets a similar shop I would blow my pay check there every month.

Your comedy name is a bit clunky. Might I suggest “Odin and sons” or maybe “Two and a Half Asgardians” (the half could be a dwarf (not really Asgardian but still))
