The Senior Vice President of EA Games Europe (Patrick Soderlund) claims that the 360 is just about ‘maxed out’ but not the PS3. He is quoted saying that he,
“like(s) the Natal…That’s cool. It’s an interesting device, so I’m truly impressed by Xbox. It’s my personal favourite console… I think Microsoft is on a roll right now. They’re doing really well. If I was Sony, I would have a headache, to be honest.”
But in contrast he also had some positive views regarding the PS3 (something of a silver-lining for Sony) as he says that,
“Sony has a lot of good games this year. If you go to their booth, there’s a very consistent, high quality product line-up and that will help them. I do think that we’ll see developers inside the organisation getting to understand the PS3 better and I think that we’re getting more power out of PS3 right now… I think that we’ve maxed out the 360 but we haven’t maxed out the PS3.”
So I’m pretty stoked for the PS3 since it seems that the sky is the limit but does this mean that as far as graphic potential goes for Xbox 360 games, well uhm… the limit’s the sky and we’ve hit it like a brick wall? Maybe developers will have to push the boundaries with fresh gaming concepts and playability then? I reckon that may not be such a bad thing in the end, what do you guys think?
