The game will change what missions it offers you depending on which missions you prefer – so as you do more and more treasure hunts and less wanted posters you will be rewarded with more opportunities to hunt treasure…

We continue on our way and stumble across some wild dogs wandering around. This may be a good time to say that the world of RDR is teeming with wild life; in my short demo I saw 8 dogs, 3 skunks, 5 wild horses, 2 donkeys and a bunny (which they didn’t shoot). These animals interact with the world and each other all by themselves and really do bring a level of realism to the game. The dogs we had stumbled across may well have attacked us but as we prepare to defend ourselves a rabbit breaks from the cover and the dogs resume their chase of their original prey.

Over the next hill we find our bounty and his 6 defenders. Out comes our sniper rifle as we begin picking off the armed guards, as the first one drops the rest react realistically and dive for cover. Out comes our normal rifle and into cover we go, a short fire fight later and we have taken them all down and grabbed some proof that our bounty is disposed off… thankfully this bounty was a dead or alive option.

Back to Chuparosa we go to collect our bounty along with some extra honour and fame for the hero of the day.

In part 2 I will cover the wanted system, how your clothing and accessories change your experience, unique shooting abilities and the standard story stages.

Thanks for this lazy! Really looking forward to part two.
This is edging past Splinter cell and Heavy rain as my must have game of next year. I really hope R* don’t disappoint.

    That sounds seriously awesome.
Much more “my thing’ than GTA IV.

WOW WOW WOW. Heavy Rain and what ever the other games that we are so excited about are called can go and sit at the back of the class. I love how rockstar doesn’t tease for years. March better hurry the fuck up.

We had an embargo date change so the article had to be taken down till today. So you can look for the next part very soon.

Oh yeah! I definitely can’t wait. I really hope they deliver on this game, because I can’t wait to “skin me some scalps” and “ride of into the sunset”.
