[A quick update on the matter for anyone who missed it in our earlier posts and just needed the facts.]

After a recent storm that brewed up on Twitter with regards to an article stating that the Gears of War 3’s campaign was “too buggy” to demo at the Eurogamer Expo, Lazygamer.net contacted Epic Games and Cliff Bleszinski for a comment.

Cliff Bleszinski said that he “wasn’t too thrilled” to hear “incorrect and silly” things being said by someone who was tasked with representing their title.

Here is the related section of the comment from Cliff Bleszinski:

“Still, not too thrilled that someone representing our game would say something so incorrect and silly. The guys are working really hard on the game here and stories like that bum them out. Especially when the campaign is fantastic.”

We do want to thank the guys at Epic Games for their quick responses and great attitudes.

It must also be said that code prepared for an Expo demo is very different from actual work-in-progress code of the game and shouldn’t be treated as such.

Gears of War 3 is still on track for a late 2011 release, we can only hope that the time between then and now flies by.

  1. I don’t get why Cliffy is so upset, the game is still in development, of course it’s going to have bugs, and even if it’s littered with them who cares? It’s like with GT5 and all those articles about bugs.

It only becomes a problem if they release a buggy version for retail, if it’s still in development, it’s a non issue.

Its no that it still has bugs, its because some guy said it was “too buggy” to show to gamers. According to CliffyB, that is rubbish.

    Hence, his wrath. 😀
