Fear Snow in Telltale’s Game of Thrones launch trailer

3 min read

Well hello there Telltale, what’ve you been working on? Tales from Borderlands? Sounds awesome, I love the crazy world of Pandora! Let me just grab tha… wait, what do you mean you’ve also been working on a Game of Thrones title and the first episode is out today?

I love me a game that makes me question my decision-making abilities and their repercussions. Alright, not really, it’s the sort of stuff that keeps me up at night, but I have honestly been looking forward to Telltale’s venture into Westeros. Here’s the launch trailer for Episode 1: Iron from Ice…

This new story tells of House Forrester, a noble family from the north of Westeros, loyal to the Starks of Winterfell. Caught up in the events surrounding the War of the Five Kings, they are thrown into a maelstrom of bloody warfare, revenge, intrigue, and horror as they fight to survive while the seven kingdoms tear themselves apart.

You will take on the role of different members of the Forrester household, and determine their fate through the choices you make; your actions and decisions will change the story around you.

Oh good, that’s all I need – the death of a virtual family on my conscience. I just know that I’m going to make all the wrong decisions and everybody is going to die! Actually, it doesn’t matter what I do… this is Game of Thrones we are talking about. Everybody is going to perish regardless.

If you’re a fan of the television series, you would’ve recognised several familiar faces. Looks like episode 1 will have you encountering Cersei and Tyrion Lannister, Margaery Tyrell, and that bastard Ramsay Snow Bolton (please don’t flay me, I beg of you). I’m sure we will see many more when the next few episodes get released.

If you’re keen to know more about the game, you can find more info right here. It’s now available on Steam for both Windows and Mac at $26.99 for the entire season. It’ll be out on everything else (including iOS and Android) soon.
